hello, I am a newbie here.
I am doing an experiment about analyzing waveform and spectrum from a laser. I just did the set up according to instruction given.
Now, I am setting up laser to piezo driver and control box(temperature, current controller). In addition, a ramp signal from signal generator is being used as input to piezo driver. While, the output of piezo driver then go into laser.
By modifying the current, temperature and voltage, the laser pointed out through mirrors, lens, fabry perot interferometer and photodetector. The waveform then is analyzed in oscilloscope.
We used 3 channel from oscilloscope as channel 1 is waveform of laser after interferometer, channel 2 is ramp signal from signal generator and ext. trigger channel is from syn channel from signal generator.
Here is several question about this experiment:
1. why we are using ramp signal instead of other signal into piezo driver(voltage modifier) and oscilloscope? why not sine signal or other?
2. why with using piezo driver, we can see this kind type of spectrum(picture below)? If I use voltage from other controller, this kind of waveform cant be appeared.
I hope someone who have knowledge about this things can answer the question.
Thank you.:thanks:
