:questionCan anyone tell me is it possible to turn a cheap red laser pointer into a green laser pointer?

And HOW? :'(

Unless you completely swap the diode and driver for a green laser module with driver and keep only the case and button. The green module is probably not gonna completely fit in there anyway.Mind aswell just buy a green laser. :-/

Well not quite, but it's pretty much the same process. :D

Btw, this is a horrible thread, the title isn't descriptive at all, no need to be a poll, poll question has nothing to do with the thread, no need for that huge font size , not to mention the punctuation and expresion errors, and lastly , you didn't do any research whatsoever before asking such a duh question. ::)

It would be like turning a Yugo into a Koenigsegg, with the right amount of money and skill it "can" be done, but you are better of starting from scratch or buying a koenigsegg :) or in your case a green laser. Check out dealextreme.com, you can find some nice lasers in the 30mw range for 20$ shipped to your house it doesn't get much cheaper then that, if you are from america and cannot order from their site, then I believe that Sawt's GB is still in motion (check out the GB section).

Thanks

haha, put the noobie in his place.   Yes, these threads can be very annoying.

And yes, you can change a red laser to green, all you need is a coherent wavelength nanometer reducer filter!  ;D

I guess it's what you consider "a laser" because you could swap the modules form some hosts so if you consider the housing "a laser" then the answer is possible, but if you consider the laser module (the driver, laser diode, optics) "a laser", then no, it's not possible. For starters: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10094
