I recently purchased what was clearly advertised as a 'PHR-803T' sled on eBay for £11 after shipping, after extracting the diode realised i had a DT-0811, i was wondering if anyone could provide some answers to my questions if you have the time.

1. How can i get the annoying heatsink off without damaging the diode (I dont have may tools either, my main weapon is a suisse army knife with pliers lol) i have access to what most of you will call a 'Dremel'. Is there any videos on this?

2. What wavelength does it emmit?

3. What ampage should i run it at?

4. What is the best power possible from this diode?

5. Will the 405-G-1 lens increase output?

6. Does anyone know the pinout of this diode?
Thanks in advance

Jex.

1. idk, keep trying ;)
2. 405nm
3. member c4r0 has run it at 100mA
4. about 90mW (?)
5. yes, but these cheap diodes aren't worth it
6. just like any other blu ray diode (search!!!)

Mate i have searched and noticed that people are saying that its sometimes a higher wavelength (407-410nm) thats why i was asking, and also the 1st one is the one i need most, and thanks for the other answers.

You could probrably get it out of the heatsink using the same method that is used for the LPC-815. you just need, pliers, flat-head screw driver, and a file.

YouTube - How to harvest a LOC diode from the LPC-815 sled.

Right ive managed to get it out but now i wanna use it, i got 2 dilda hosts and ive also got a dx 80mW blu ray that probably outputs about 30mW, (dosent burn at all) and i wanna swap diodes, but i can figure out how to open it up to access the driver, it is SKU:33771DealExtreme: $45.16 80mW 405nm Blue-Violet/Royal Purple Laser Pen (2*CR2)

Any help on that will be much appreciated

Not sure on that one, I've never had one of those host. You might start a new thread with advice for that.
