So I found a source for a 200W CW 808nm laser diode stack at a reasonable price ($1,200). I've got some questions:
Does anyone have thoughts on how to focus it down for a DMLS application?
I've looked at fiber coupling vs side-pumped lasers a bit, side pumped seems much simpler - any idea what size rod I need and how to go about pumping something with this level of luminous power? (fiber-coupling seems feasible, but would likely take months to get right so I would rather not go that route now that I've done enough research to know how to do it)
Any tips for working with IR light at high power? I believe the diode has a minimum threshold of around 10W-20W output so working in the mW range isn't feasible during testing.
