I bought this Powerful 200mW 532nm Green Beam Laser Pointer Pen For Sale green laser pointer and it does not burn a thing I guess I got a dud like I've been reading people like these sell. But one of the people on those sites said if I take it apart and take off the IR filer it will burn just about anything.

Thoughts cause I am new to this but I do know the safety that has to go with lasers of this magnitude.

Probably not a dud. It seems like most lasers from that site would be way underspec from what they are advertising and selling them as. I highly doubt that that laser even has an IR filter. But IR filter or not, safety should always be a priority with high powered lasers (or underspec high powered lasers). IR light is invisible or a very weak red color but even though it is weak it can still fry retinas. I wouldn't mess with it. Enjoy your laser for the color or the visible beam. If you want one that burns just buy a different laser.

Edit: I just read further in detail the desciption of the laser. Hilarious! Visible dot for miles in daylight. Extra long lightsaber! :)
