Question about Aixiz housing and board

Hello, I'm new to the DIY laser hobby and have some questions.

I bought an AIXIZ "650nm 5mw 12X30mm brass case" from mfgcn.com. This case came with a diode and a driver board, and I was wondering if I could use this board with a diode I took out of a Lite-On DH-20A4P-04 20x Dvd burner. Or would I have to build one of the "DDL" drivers from the forum? Thanks
 





No, you can't use the driver that comes with the module, that would only provide enough power to drive a 5mW LD, so your 20x kick ass diode would only be a 5mW LD, in fact I think the diode wouldn't even lase at that low power. Oh and you can't mod the driver to output more current.
