Hi, All: New guy. I'm a retired electronics technician. I do a lot of repair work for the USDA wildlife management people. One of the things they do is deal with nuisance wildlife around airports, public buildings, etc. They use lasers in this business, and bring me dead ones for repair. This one won't light. When I turn on the safety key switch, the green power light illuminates. When I push the laser on button nothing happens. When I release it I get a very brief flash of the red indicator next to the green power indicator. New batteries and applying DeOxit to all the contacts didn't help.
Usually I do pretty good on my own, but this BR400 has me a little stumped regarding disassembly. In the bottom of the battery compartment I see a couple of holes that look like they are for a spanner tool, but I worry about twisting the wire to the battery contact if I turn that. The lens has a couple as well. 2 screw holes in the side, but not sure if they are just for fixed mounting? They bottom out in a smooth surface with no fastener drive type of any kind. I'll try to attach some pictures and literature.
Can anyone be of assistance?
