hey , im putting my spartan guts into a new host everything is done and fits snug ,the beam is good i found the right lens and position all i have to do now is figure out a good way to connect the diode to the battery.
im not using any driver cos i molested it.
im using 2x cr2 3v batterys beam seems strong enough and im assuming that they will be better for the diode life seeing as they are less powerfull than the cr123's.
i also noticed that after i cut most of the brass cylinder where the lens used to screw into that the beam is now a line like the 1 watt versions (mines a 400mw) .
heres some pics.
its now gonna be 10cm long instead of the spartan 20cm :)

what do you mean, "no driver"? like, directly connecting the diode to two cr123a cells? I am surprised you got more than just a short bright flash! :)

yes directly connnected the diode to TWO CR2 batteries, it worked for months very strong beam too, i blew the diode when i connected 3 batteries ,what a knob i am.

do you know where i can get another diode from?
