I recently bought the
200mW transformable green laser/adjustable [OLV6200] - $129.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products
December 23rd, but finally got it last Friday.
Ever since that day, I have had problems with it, it worked right out of the box, but then suddenly just stopped working altogether, no matter if I changed the batteries, messed with the tailcap or anything.. I tapped on it numerous times to kind of shake it around to see if that would work and it FINALLY came back on after probably 100 taps. So I was like okay I can deal with that... whatever.
But every day since then, any time I try to turn it on for the first time that day, or sometimes randomly while sitting there playing with it, it does the same thing. I have to sit there and hold the button down and tap on it numerous times for it to finally come on. Some days.. it takes longer than others, today though.... it's not coming on at all even after 5-10 minutes of fooling with it.
I emailed Susie last night and told her of the situation and she told me to "make sure the tailcap is getting a good connection" .. so I kind of slightly bent the little metal piece, and it made it work perfect. I played with it for about 30 minutes last night and it was still working. So then I laid it down and went to sleep.. well, when I woke up this morning.. it is completely dead.. I have tried changing batteries, unscrewing and screwing on the tailcap, turning the lock switch on and off, tapping on it to kind of shake things around, hold down the button to just see if it will finally fire up after about 20 seconds.. but nothing is working. Has anyone ever had this sort of issue with a laser before? If so, what could be causing it, and what could be done to fix it without having to ship it back?
EDIT: I just managed to get it to come on, after hitting it very hard against my hand.. I just do not like having to do that EVERY. DAY. Sometimes.. a few times a day. It can not be healthy for the laser, and kind of embarrassing when I want to show someone my laser, but have to "beat on it" before it will even come on. I feel that if I paid $130 (I know, that's not expensive when it comes to lasers, but still) that it should just.. work.
