I can't seem to find the thread where someone wanted a remote pressure switch but came across one from survival lasers and
did not know using one can rob up to 15% of the optical power from the laser??
Is it a typo?

That makes no sense as it is used to disconnect the battery supply for the driver. Even if it has some resistance which would drop some voltage across it, the driver should keep the current constant until it reaches a critical value. I have never looked at these before now, not even needing one for my applications. Still, it is just a switching mechanism for the supply to the driver.

If you don't press firmly it could add enough resistance that your driver Vin falls below dropout, I have seen this with pressure switches when connected to incandescent light bulbs as a dimly lit bulb, momentary contact switches too. Try pressing firmly and see if it changes.
