hi im mkaing a driver for a laser, and im a tryin to put a 100 ohm potentiometer for the driver, but i cant find any, will it be ok if i put a 100k pot instead of the 100 ohm pot?

Are you kidding me or just trolling...

What do you see the same about a 100 Ohm Potentiometer
and a 100,000 Ohm potentiometer...

Are 100 lollipops the same as 100,000 lollipops....

You will need to do a little research and reading about passive
components values...
It is obvious you did not do any research at all...

With a simple eBay search for 100 Ohm Pot (that you could have
done yourself).. I got 123 hits...

wat i mean is that a 100 ohm pot will do the same thing as a 100k pot, but the 100k pot will have higher resisttance limit, correct?

There is a reason why certain values of electronic components
are chosen by the designer of that circuit...

You need 100 ohms of adjustment...

Look at the drawing in Post #3...

Look at the 100 Ohm pot on the right side of that drawing...

Do you see that it will take a complete wiper movement
to get from zero Ohms to 100 Ohms...

Now look at the 1K Pot on the left side of that drawing....

Do you see the small amount travel of the wiper of that
pot in the drawing to get a 100 Ohm change...

That is only a 1,000 Ohm Pot in that picture...

With a 100,000 Ohm pot that you want to use a 100 Ohm
adjustment will be 100 times smaller....

It will be next to IMPOSSILBE to adjust in a range of 100 Ohms...

Not sure if this is a good project for you yet before you learn some
basic electronics....:cryyy:

There are small and easy to understand tutorials and explanations
on the Forum and on the Internet..

ahh now i understand completely, so i can use the any potentiometer but 1 that would be suitable for my project, yea i get the difference now, nah i should be fine with this project, this is the only promblem i have found with my driver
Thank Youu!!!
