Pls recommend a good 445 with high reliability.

Basically the need is that I would want a nicely built with good driver/wiring/soldering with high reliability.

Don't have to be high powered like incorporating a G-2 lens pushing out 2W. In fact I prefer the better divergence in the distance of a Aixiz.

Currently looking at the basic Survival laser Aurora host at $139 with copper heatsink (add $10). I am in the flashlight hobby too, so no issue I can get one of my better tailcaps to stand in. :) (I have a Tank007 PT30 which is not used often, can change that out). I am impressed with this as the driver is properly heatsinked to the host, and the copper heatsink also touches the host nicely.
So 2 min run with high reliability is not a problem at all, esp when it is not run at high current / high power. I like the flexibility in that I can do 2 x 18650 with an extension tube, which increases thermal mass somewhat and also cooling surface area.

I can do up to $300 max.

There is a Suvival Laser 2W which is coming up soon in weeks to come, not sure if anyone knows what's the host?

Thanks!

PS. I already have a 1.65W hotlight with njg-18, but that runs HOT! Driver is not heatsinked to the host, not really efficient. I guess its not going to survive my use for long.

Looks like you've done the research already... the survival laser should work very well, aside from people damaging them through their own mistakes the laser has been basically trouble free.

I'm also holding out for a 2W version.... if a similar host is used it will have to have a copper heatsink by default. A small fan for active cooling would be very cool, but I'm just gonna have to keep dreaming on that..
