Ok, I received my new PHR diode. I'm going to solder it directly to a Rkcstr driver, which is set to 120mA. My plan is this. Solder the Case Pin and the Negative pin together, then solder those two pins to the negative LD Out of the driver, and the positive pin to the positive LD Out on the driver.

My question is this. Once that is said and done, can I connect my + power source to the Driver Input, and my - power source to the aixiz module to test the diode before I put it inside my host? Is there any danger by testing it like this?

Also, should I isolate the rkcstr driver from the aixiz module just to be safe? Or will that not be an issue? Thanks again everyone! Hopefully tonight I will have a functioning PHR inside of jayrob's led pen host! :D

I'm not a Laser Builder... but the only thing that I would change is not
relying on the mechanical contact of the LD to the Aixiz Case as my
ground return...
I would supply my Negative/Ground to my Drive's input instead.

If your rkcstr driver has no electrically bare contacts on the edges
of the PCB then there should be no need to isolate it from the case.
