O-like 150 mW blu-ray pen

Hey guys, just so you all know, my 150 mW bluray from o-like shipped a few days ago, there will be a review posted the day i get it. I havent seen any yet. But i wanna know what to expect in terms of burning power and beam visibility. let me know. thanks

here is the link for the product:
405nm 150mW blu-ray pen /adjustable [OLBVL150] - $95.99 : O-Like, Quality Products, Great Prices

I'm not trying to sound rude when I ask this, but is there really any value in a review from someone who knows nothing about such a device they are purchasing?

Yes there is! If i am looking to buy one, I would appreciate someone's first impressions.
Besides i know i wasnt born knowing anything about BR pens.

What I'm getting at is that reviews usually compare products to relate quality levels.

It doesn't sound as if this person has anything to relate his review to, other than first time buyer happiness that he has a working laser. Catch my drift?

Again, not trying to sound like a jerk about it, just stating the obvious about how I feel about certain "reviews".

Because "these types of reviews" happen here often , there may be alot not to like for you.

I do understand what you mean, but try to look at it from an amateur reviewers point of view.

More like a " look what i just got" point of view , really.

I have the same laser.
Beam visibility is probably going to be a LOT less pronounced than you're expecting; this is simply due to the fact that humans are not very sensitive to light in the violet part of our visible spectrum. For example my 50mW green is ~5x as bright as my 150mW blu-ray despite having a third of the power.

Burning is a different story, this thing is a monster, as long as you can focus it well you should be able to burn and melt to your heart's desire.

I have to say that I agree with exerd on this front...IMHO reviews should be left to those who are experienced is the product they are reviewing. There are a few examples of such reviews for the same laser on the forum already, so you can refer to those if you want more detailed impressions.
