Noob PS3 Diode Build

Hi, this is my first post so hi :)
Anyway I've been looking round these forums for a few weeks so have decided to go ahead and build a blu-ray laser from a spare PS3 diode I have but I'm still a little confused about what to do exactly.
From what I know I need a box of some sort to put it in, an Aixiz laser module, and a driver and that's the bit I'm stuck on. Does anyone have a diagram I could use for a setup like this as I'm not sure of how much current/voltage the diode needs etc - there is one here for a red diode so what would I need to change. Also any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
One more thing - how many mW can this diode comfortably produce?

The PS3 diodes are good for around 5-20mW at 40-50mA. For a driver you can use your link, however two things need to be changed. The resistor, instead of 2X 10ohm, should be 25 to 30ohm (25 ohm for 50mA, 30 ohm for 40mA). You do not need a variable resistor/pot if your 25/30ohm resistor is accurate enough. Also, instead of 7.2V input, you might need a little more, probably around 9V or so.
Here are some tips as requested:
• Make sure to test the driver before you hook it up to your laser diode.
• Make sure to short the capacitor on the driver right before you solder your laser diode in.

Just wanted to check one more thing - is this module OK to use for this build just I think I remember reading something about different lenses being needed for different wavelengths?

That module will work fine for your application, and as you said you will lose some output through the plastic lens, but it is negligible at this low power.

Sorry just one more question - how much difference does the location of the resistor make i.e. the schematic I posted before has it in parallel with the diode but in this schematic it's in series.

The two drawings are electrically identical... :thinking:
The only thing wrong with the last drawing are the LM317 pin numbers..
Typically Adj=pin1 Out=Pin2 In=pin3... Identified left to right...

Thanks. Err not sure what's happening about PMs I got a reply from somebody else through PM a few days ago but I'll double-check settings. :)

What I mean about the difference is that in the second one, current for the diode flows through the resistor i.e. they are in series but in the first one the resistor is parallel with the diode. Can't think how to explain what I mean better than that sorry but they don't look identical to me because on the one on the wiki the adj pin would not be receiving the same voltage as the diode.

Edit: Thanks very much for saying about the pinout, I didn't think to double check that before but I've just checked the data sheet and since I have the LM317T model it's as you said with ADJ being on pin 1.

Edit 2: Sorry just realised what you said about them being identical (durr!!) - the pinout on the first diagram is correct so yeah it's identical. Sorry, it's been a long day! ;)

I know I keep saying just one more question but anyway here's another ;)
I decided to buy this which AFAIK is good for around 100mW (will probably run it more around 80 to be safe) so I just wanted to double check something - I'd need to change the resistor in order to get higher output and I've worked out that it should be around 12-13 ohm in order to get around 90-100mA from the regulator so 80-90mW from the diode.
