New to the Laser business

I'm new to the laser business and would like to get started on making one but got nothing to work with, accept maybe the mini mag flashlight :-/ . Can anyone help me with this? if someone has any crapy old parts, could ya let me know? I'm really interested in expierementing with a beginner one and blasting off from there. So if anyone got any old parts you could send me that would be great, i just don't have a credit card to buy things online.

If you build a laser, don't use the video on making a laser from a minimag because the laser will die in kess than a minute, if not instantly! There are a bunch of topics in the Experiments and Mods section on building lasers from modifying flashlights to a homeade laser diode driver.
