New to lasers, fluorescence project assistance

Hello everyone. I am brand new to working with lasers and have a project that suddenly came up that I am trying to work out and could use some help.

Basically I am looking to use a laser as a 532nm light source for screening for fluorescent proteins. The emission wavelength is 588nm. This laser would need to remain on for periods at max 5 minutes.

I am aiming for a price range below $250 but can be flexible. Ideally it would come from a single supplier that can do purchase orders.

Basically what I need to do is have a laser source, diffuse it, and then be able to filter out that source using goggles while not filtering out the 588nm wavelength.
