Okay, so I am new to the idea of building laser and what it takes to do so. I have been a long time enthusiast and have read a lot of things about big laser companies like *cough*WickedLasers*cough* that are not selling what they say they are. I have been longing for a burning, something high in mW in green(520nm range or something comparable). Any advice or help is appreciated! Look forward to getting to know everyone on the site!

Here is a nice review of lower power (non-burner) greens from different vendors.

If I were you, I'd check out the Buy/Sell/Trade for a while. They usually have some good deals if you wait long enough. There is a group buy now for 100mW green module for ~$60 from sandstone11, which is cheap for the power. You'd have to put it in your own host, though.
Just be very careful and know what you are doing.
