New DX flashlight style 20mW

Checkout this, it's a 20mW in a DX flashlight case.

It's like a mini spyder ;D

I may buy one and waterproof it; it should be very easy to install an IR filter on it.

It seems like DX is working their way up to a PGL and flashlight style laser with some serious milliwattage soon.

I know the green lasers from DX are a crapshoot, but they're generally honest and don't present their products as anything their not. And in general, even when way under spec, I don't think I've seen anyone with a DX green that still wasn't a good deal for the mW vs. what they actually paid for it.

Exactly what I was thinking ashton! Maybe even throw one of those GB diodes in an aixiz module in there and instant burner! probably even some circuitry you could use for it.

GAH !!! Only on the proven items....with the vast array of items they are selling anymore - it can be a valid question....so I guess I need to find a different crusade now hehehehehehehe !

Mine has been shipped already, I should see it in about a week.

I find this DX product a bit of a waste really. In my opinion, it would be much better to see a series of higher powered laser in form factors like this one:

Running of CR123 instead of CR2 is a bit of an advantage, but why should a laser look the least bit like a flashlight?

Incandescant lamps can blast off their excess heat as IR radiation, but LED ligths and lasers cannot and hence need heatsinks. Someone should figure that at some point.

The Idea to use this form factor was to have the room to house the newly built circuitry, Higher Power LD and heat sink.
