i am trying to build a 12v battery charger with the LM317 regulator. i found the schematic in the product documentation from the mfg. the only thing is, is that i need it to cut off when it reaches full charge. i am using a solar cell for V source (12VDC) and the battery is 12VDC 7AH. the device it is powering is 12VDC with 500mA draw. any ideas would greatly help!!

can u draw a circuit diagram of what you have? i've been using some LM317T regulator for my senior design project, pretty neat lil thing.

lots of good info on the LM317, the circuit they have might help you with the turn off voltage, i'm not sure though.
