Need help modifying clicky switch to accommodate transistor

I'm thinking of connecting my M-140 in C6 host to a simple avr circuit I built to convert ASCII into morse code.

I'm unable to think of a way to modify the clicky switch such that I can use the laser standalone and with the base of the transistor linked to the mcu for transmitting.
I'm thinking PNP so I can use the laser standalone too

Also not experienced with tailcap mods, anyway to add it in discretely?

Suggestions needed, thanks :)

Thinking of placing a PNP between the diode and the driver at the top compartment, with some makeshift 3.5mm trs jack to connect the base pin to the mcu when needed.

Is there any foresee-able problems with doing so?
