Came from a LG 16x DVD Burner model GSA-H20L

I am pretty sure the one on the right is the IR and the left is the LD

Here is the sled

Can anyone tell me what mA I should be able to run this diode at? Also, how the heck do you get these out of their factory heat sinks?

Thanks!

The one on the left I think is similar to a RLD65PZB5 16x diode or maybe the same 200ma is the way to go for about 90mw. For heatsinks I usually cut a small piece out of one side with a hacksaw and then twist the sink to break it.

thanks for the info. So this should be a half way decent burning laser then....are the pin outs for power the same as a blu ray? Top positive, middle right not used and bottom neg?

The one on the left is the red LD. I'm not familiar with that particular sled but reds are almost always case negative so the middle pin is your negative connection.
