Need aligment help with line laser alignment

I need some help with line laser alignment. This piece we bought from DealExtreme is cool, but not aligned in any way. The laser is not centered in the cylindrical barrel nor is it pointed straight or parallel to the cylinder. I need something that is more precise. I'm trying to attach some images to illustrate.

Relatively new here but it appears your diode was pressed into to module on an angle. Might need to retrieve the diode without breaking it, again i am new so youll have to wait for some real advice. But from what I gather its important to press the diode in a bench top vice perfectly the first time or it could be VERY difficult or impossible to liberate it without breaking it. Hopefully some veterens will post here. good luck

No doubt it was pressed in wrong. I have several and I think they are all wrong since it wasn't crucial to the manufacturer (obviously). So I need an alternative.
 
Press the diode out like this:

And press it back in like this:

fit_diode1.jpg
