Need a place to mount my blu-ray?

Since i can't sell my blu-ray i figure i could put it some where on my truck. NY law says that you cant have neon lights under cars so i don't think that's a option. I can't really point it outward for obvious reasons (90+mW). So i was maybe thinking of mounting it in the bed with a bunch of small mirrors to bounce it around. wouldn't be able to see it during the day but at night it should light up. Anyone have some ideas?

Yes,

First off, it would be awesome if you could build a cube with mirrors without one of it faces, then place the module at an angle to allow it to bounce inside the cube.

The classic one, use a disco ball an bounce it off of it.

Place two mirrors in 90° angle of each other and then turn the structure 45° right (should look like this: /\ with the reflecting side pointing down). Place a diffraction grating somewhere inside, maybe in the middle or making it close a triangle and beams should bounce off like crazy.

I'm out of ideas for now but let me know what you think ;)!

I have this one little piece that puts out a line of dots strait on a wall. So maybe that could do something. Making it V shaped sounds like a good idea, the disco ball might be a lil dangerous because idk where its guna reflect.

thanks for the ideas.

I have to figure out how to keep it safe from weather... but first i want to plan how i want to do it.

You could just build a simple spiro or a Liquid Sky effect across the entire bed would be pretty cool.. something I would want to see for sure! All that might entail is a few spinning mirrors or course.. You might figure out a way to add fog to your pickup bed as well... that would be sick.

I know it would be possible to add exhaust but i want to keep it simple. liquid sky would be nice, but i dont have any pieces that give that effect. guna goo check some stuff now.

i don't know hot to achieve the liquid sky effect and i searched for it on here and didnt find any thing that seemed useful..

I figured out i can use one of my little motors, but i need a small rectangle shaped mirror, or at least one to cut a piece off of.

Thats true! If you have any transparent crystals in nice geometric shapes, you can get a pretty decent liquid sky... it just depends on the crystal you have. If you can pretty much quickly spin any object that bends, reflects, and disperses light in an interesting way, you can make a cool effect of some kind.

try this for kicks... but don't follow any other advice given on the site... some of it is kinda messed up.

Remember you'll need fog.
I wouldn't recommend using too much smoke inside the van.

You could always re-route your exhaust pipe to a new location... :D just kidding..

actually i figured it would only show real good when im peeling out. I need to find a small square mirror to cut up for this, already got a cd player.

good good! I'm actually pretty excited to see what you come up with! Post pics (tutorial?) of your progress and of the final product! Many people here would love to see something like that!
