Well, uh. Those are just lightly coated in Gold, and are probably just made of steel.

Plus, copper is better than gold. And Silver is better than copper

They are copper underneath - I have worked with several of those types of diode lasers in the past - I was not bringing anyone's attention to it due to the gold content - just because of the heatsink styling ! Several of those could be easily converted into DPSS green systems, and other colors because of the size of them. They are super nice little units - I am not "into" the whole gold reclamation stuff - it was only interesting due to the heatsinks

Yeah - like I said - NOT for the gold reclamation idea - I don't do that stuff Some really nice heatsinks though - most look like older Coherent fibre coupled diodes !
