My multimeter has a temp input; potential LPM?

Hi everyone,

So I've seen some DIY infrared LPMs on LPF and was wondering if I could potentially make one with the multi I currently own. The images below show my 1mW greenie changing the temp of the sensor by 21 degrees in less than 20 seconds.

If I could figure out the material used, maybe I could use some physics to play around with heat capacities and energies? I am aware that the sensor reflects lots of light so this is an issue. This is simply more of an idea than anything. I'd appreciate input from anyone.

Has been discussed before...

Yes you can detect a Laser beam... It will be as accurate as
sticking a wet finger in the air to get an accurate wind speed...

There are many more factors to consider than just and increase
in temperature.

But generally LPMs work like this right ? What's the difference ?

LPMs detect temperature differentials not direct temperature
and must be calibrated to a know accurate source.

I can tell you now...that ain't no true 1 mw...It shouldn't make it rise anywhere near that much...especially with some being reflected.
