Okay so I know it might not be the best looking laser build or most efficient... But this is my first laser build so I can only improve from here.
I wanted the laser to be my own and be able to tell people I made it myself. So I made a linear driver using a LM1085 (despite everyone telling me to use the LM338 instead).
It's using the 2W M140 445nm laser diode from DTR's laser shop.
I have it running at 1.6 Amps right now have 2 18650's in series to power it.
(Yes I am wearing proper eye safety goggles)
(The pictures don't do the laser justice)
Here are some pictures:
A big thanks to everyone on the forum who helped me through this experience and put up with my lack of knowledge. I learned a lot from this project and feel I have a better understanding of lasers now.
