So a while ago I finally lost my ability to resist buying the new 1W Nichia 520nm laser diode from DTR. For the build, I decided to go with a 2x 18650 host from Ehgemus and an X-drive to power the diode with. I can't quite remember what I ended up setting the current to, but my output is near 1.25W with a G2 lens so you can look at the PIV charts if you are curious enough.

I LOVE this build! The host was a perfect choice for this laser diode, as it is well heatsinked and can handle this power hungry and relatively inefficient laser diode. After I finished the laser, some things came up and I never got around to making a video until now.
