I am interested in getting into infrared lasers and cmount diodes. Do Meridith or any other company offer a module suited for cmount diodes operated in constant output mode?

Not likely, you will need to machine your own, or improvise.

If you have a ~18 mm diameter hole, when diode is 'butted' against the sides of the hole, emitter should be amost perfectly centered. Should be able to machine it out somewhere.

What c-mount power and wavelenght are we talking about here?

Jerry, he was talking about making his own...

But talking about ebay, you can find tons of c-mount diodes on ebay for good prices here and there.

You can also talk to Bill, billg519 here, about some high power IRs, he has more than you can imagine (both diodes and experience).

I understood that he was looking for prefabricated Modules made by
a Company... not that he wants to "make his own"...

Did I miss something...

The thread is called: Modules FOR cmounts...

Most people mistake modules with housings... Also, you said it yourself in last quote:
Do [compaines] offer a module SUITED FOR cmounts,
NOT containing cmount diodes.

That is only my impression...

SordOfSalvation , what exactly are you looking for?

I'm sure Jerry understood perfectly well that he wanted a module for the C-Mount, but why make life difficult when the O-Like 800mW offers a very good price for everything you need from optics to powersupply.

I would also go for the o-like module.

If you would like to argue about this all day... then take it to PM...
I've stated my view and reasoning...

BTW... Modules.. Housings... Hosts = Things that hold a Laser.. IMO
[EDIT]
Modules for not with...
The implication is Empty not full....
[/EDIT]

@ asherz...

Exactly.... why re-invent the wheel when you can get the
whole car plus wheels for cheap...:D

Well Jerry, techicaly... a module is a finished laser head witg diode pressfited, optics mounted and driver soldered, ready to go!

Only the metal part +optics are a diode housing...

Why argue? I am also stating my point of view, like you.

Maybe I should just press 'unsubcribe'...?

BTW, why reinvent (DIY) ? Because it is fun :D
