Looking around for cheap digital meters to put on y homemade variable supply, the best I found at reasonable (to my budget) prices were only 3-1/2 digits, cheaply made and not very high impedance.
But I found an Ebay seller with some very nice units: 4-1/2 digits, range selectable from 200mV-1KV, 100Mohm impedance... etc. (these are used, not new)

I bid but wasn't around for that crucial last 2 minutes... and lost. BUT... they sent me a "second chance" offer - they have multiple units - and sold them to me at my offer.
I paid $41.46 + 8.54 shipping for 2 units.
