I'm too new to the forum to know much about Meredith. I'm under the assumption that there was a time when their lenses were considered good stuff?

I was on the site tonight and saw a couple of interesting things.

First was a "new product" for April Meredith Instruments : LightPath A390 Glass Collimator Lens [LDC-LP-A390] - $25.00 - The source for laser surplus

I was wondering if this was any good for building 405-G type lenses or such?

Next, I saw these and wondered if they are any good? Meredith Instruments : Laser Diode Collimating Lens (Glass) [LDC-2] - $35.00 - The source for laser surplus

Finally, I was very curious about these 635nm diodes. Meredith Instruments : 5mW, 635nm CircuLaser Laser Diode, 5.6mm dia. [PS123-01] - $49.00 - The source for laser surplus

Would it be possible to do something like this to tame the higher powered 635's and 445's in an effort to get them more round?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

I ordered my first diode laser from M.I. back in the early 90's! It's a solid company, though expensive for actual lasers these days.

Being that it is not a press fit, it works great for testing when you need to swap diodes out.
