Laser Pointer Forums - Discuss Laser Pointers | High Power Lasers

Recently picked up this Melles Griot high power 532nm DPSS unit. Bought it as not working with the hopes of aligning it, unfortunately the Nd:YVO4 broke off during transit - more on that later. Currently working on getting replacement parts. I have only linked the images here, they were far too large to embed. :(

The unit after some minor tear down - In need of a good clean. :yabbem:

The cavity - This is where the magic happens and the 532nm light is produced.

From left to right: Beam sampling mirrors, Output Coupler, KTP + Mount (Rectangular silver piece), Where the Nd:YVO4 should be, Focusing Optics, Fiber bundle.

Another view of the cavity, you can see the rectangular glass mirror (White glue on 4 corners, where the Nd:YVO4 should be attached. Also visible is the fiber bundle at the end of the fiber coupler.

This is the piece of Nd:YVO4 that had broken off - you can see the round mirror still attached on one side. Mirror (as best as I can guess) is HR@532nm and AR@1064nm. Pencil for scale. Unfortunately it's not even worth trying to reattach - I'm now working on getting another working cavity that I can place it into this head.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed the pictures! If anyone needs any further information or would like something explained then feel free to ask! :D

Cheers!
