max Ma input for an IR diode

hey guys, i got my tterbo DDl driver to work today, i have a red diode from a dvd player (5mw) and it also had an IR diode. my driver is set to 60 and i was wondering what the max would be for a IR diode. will post pics of my build when my aixiz modules arrive in the next few days.

if the diode is just a reader then the power will be very low, probably about 5mw and around 40ma i think

ok thankyou i better tone it down i was running at 50 woops.
wat about a red reader??

40ma is probably more for a red reader, i think because ir uses less voltage you can feed it a little more ma
