I have finished my LPC-815 build. I used my old Dorcy Jr. host from a previous blu-ray build (diode died :( ). This is a driverless build so I have no idea what kind of power this thing is using or outputting. I'm gonna try to get over to roSSco's house today to meter it on his laser power meter. It does burn black plastic almost instantly from a few feet away without having to focus to a pinpoint and I burned a ~1 mm hole through a CD jewel case back plate from about 10 feet away. I'm quite pleased with the build and will have pics soon.

They run at 150-175mW on 2 AAA's quite nicely. I've playing with one for a while now. Changed the batteries twice and its still going.

Here...

Notice I'm using ProCells. So I dont think you have to worry what AAAs your using 'cause ProCells are the most powerful I believe.

I'm actually using a fully charged 3.6v R123A (about 4.2v). That LPC is definetly getting a workout... especially after Saturday night. The GM at a club I go to was having losts of fun with it... shooting at the mirror ball in the center of the club and stuff. The smoke from the DJ's fog machine made the beam look really cool. Unfortunately no cameras are allowed in this club so no pics.

Don't sweat it, no picture can display any laser life-like. I bet the crowd got wild didn't they? :D
