Looking for guidance

Hi, i am new to the forum.. pretty much lasers in general. I would like to find someone who can get me started off right. Basically what the begginers do. Where did you guys start and how did you get to where you are now and where did you gain your knowledge. In need of guidence i want to get into lasers.
