Hi guys! So recently i've been obsessed with the beautiful yellow/orange beamshots that i've seen posted around here and I really want to have a go at starting to assemble my own . Having just moved out to a place with a very tiny garage and only a simple bag of tools I just want to start out with aquiring the very bare minimum, then expand as my finances improve until I can eventually build into my own portable host with high-quality optics and diodes!
My current idea is to just start with two cheapish laser modules in AIXIZ mounts (So I only need to adjust along one axis to align them) and a dichro perhaps mounted in this. All of which I was thinking about mounting to a wooden board so I can screw it all down when I have everything aligned.
My question is this: Where would you turn to in order to get 1 red and 1 green laser module (preferably drivers included) with a ~2:1 power ratio that could be bought for <$100 total? I know there are thousands of websites but they all feel like minefields given that most of their stuff have no reviews posted and the reviews on this board are sometimes several years old.
I'm not completely new to lasers and I even toyed with some 405 & 445nm burner builds, but that was quite a while ago and I think I have forgotten most of what I had learned so any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated
Bonus question: where would you recommend for a good, cheap, functional dichro if the Aixiz one linked above wouldn't cut it?
Thanks guys!
