Looking for a battery op laser that can project a cross pattern

I'd like to find a handheld laser that can take AAA/AA/CR123/18650 and also project a crosshair(single cross) pattern. I know that the cross pattern will be much dimmer than a focused spot but I still need the cross to -NOT- be too bright as I will be mainly using it in dark environments where myself and others in the room will have our eyes adjusted to the dim ambient light.

Something like this:

650nm rescue laser flare light + cross and line lens | eBay

but maybe not as expensive. I'm also not sure if that one might be too bright as well.

I thought about that but how can I be sure it will fit or the laser has the correct threading/housing?

It won't, but you can glue it onto an attachment or the pointer aperture itself. "some assembly required."

Hmmm. What about the one I linked in the first post? Are there any others out there like that with a screw on front big enough to fit the cross filter proper?

might be too bright for what you want it for.. certainly not suitable to use inside without goggles

Cyparagon, can those ebay lenses withstand >100mw lasers?

They're made of glass. They can take several watts at least.
