leave a FDA laser on

200mw version
HL 532nm 50-300

one question i have is it it ok to leave it on, the safety key, all the time? i pull the back pin out when i am not using it but i dont want to loose the key so i just want to leave it on unless it is not being used for a while.

will leaving it on drain the battery even if i pull out the back safety pin?

Only way to test it would to use a dmm and see if its drawing anything. I doubt it though.
