I made a cool laser sight for my new dSLR camera (although you can use it with any camera with a tripod mount)

I used a small tripod that I'm not using anymore, removed the legs and attached a mount for laser pens.

The result is stunning. No matter how long the shutter speed is, the beam is always sharp (doh) and with a steady hand, the surroundings can also be brightly illuminated and acceptably sharp.

Normal lighting (what it looks like to the eye at midnight). Shutter=1/15th, ISO1600 f/2.8

Same, with slow shutter speed of 1/1.5th

It can also create funny effects:

..first i wondered why the heck i would use a laser to aim at what i want to photograph.. :-)
but then, yea, nice results, i like the pics!

brian,
sony has some cams with lasers, they project a grid of dots, helping the autofocus.. so i guess it'll work fine! you could put a "figure head" from those 1$ lasers on it, to project some pattern.. should further help!
