I’m an amateur astronomer and I recently got a C11 at 2800mm focal length and I’m having lots of trouble aligning it. I need a laser powerful enough to make a bright beam in the sky to help with the alignment routine, maybe 30mw-75mw. I only plan to use it for a few seconds at a time and of course I’ll watch out for planes. I’m brand new to lasers and I’m finding that anything over 5mw is “banned” or heavily regulated in the US. Whatever the case may be, I’m having a hard time finding what I need from a reputable dealer. Also, I already have a ring and screw mount that I could use to attach it to my scope, but I would prefer another method to avoid differential flexure. I figure lasers with built-in mounts are meant for rifles and such but if there’s something with a losmandy or vixen dovetail, or an available adapter, please let me know. Thanks.
