I am going to try this for myself.

This is very easy to re-create at home, I tried using water from my fish tank. I had thought of using toilet water, but errr, working with fish tank water seamed nicer.

I used a <100mW DX module I housed in a die cast case with 3 x AA batteries.

Just don't use 405nm. UV typically isn't very living organism friendly. heh.

Nope. But it just misses fitting the range of UVA by 5nm... And since most diodes can be +/- 10nm.. One could argue that some 405nm diodes are indeed UV.


But on more reading, it's only UVB and UVC that are considered 'dangerous'

So I retract my above statement. Go ahead and lase away at microorganisms with 405nm and likely no harm will befall them.

Yep, but a win on a technicality is still a win.

But unless i'm being accused of lying/cheating/etc or something... What people think of me is usually pretty far down on my 'things to care about' list. I know i'm an A-hole and i'll never deny it. But I try to stay an honest one.
