When it comes to the lens after quite a while it will pick up a few dust particles from the air and maybe a very thin film of residue perhaps from a little burning at close quarters. 
What do you guys do to keep your laser's beam pure and is a little dust much of an issue anyway. (Particular reference to a recessed lens that would be difficult to clean even if you wanted to). The are sensitive things after all so what can be done?
