Laser from a Laptop DVD Drive

Hello i am new to this forum site and also new to lasers I am really interested in them i Just want to ask if i extract a diode from a laptop cd/dvd drive the model is Torisan DRD-U624.

Chances are that its only a 3mm can which wouldn't be able to fit in an Aixiz module without modifications.

You might be better off just buying one.

Alot of times, those Laptop drives aren't even a can.
They are those flat, rectangular plastic assemblies.

I agree, just buy a diode that you know will fit an Aixiz.
Those LPC-826's are nice diodes for the price. :beer:
