Hi everyone! I am very new to this forum and i'm not even sure if this is the best thread to be asking this question... anyway. I am working on a project for which I need a 532nm laser to run continuously, like at least an hour (longer if possible). currently I am using a shitty aliexpress diode/driver (i know this could be my problem). When powered with 3V the beam gets very dim after only about 3 mins. I understand this could be from heat. My question is:

Is there any 532nm diode that is relativly inexpensive that is designed to run for a long (1 hr) period of time? and if not can I make one? Any info will help alot thanks!

For as cheap as $28 to $35 you can find a 100% continues duty cycle 532 fan cooled laser module in various powers.

Thank you all for your replies! I guess I am pretty uneducated in the feild of lasers. I checked out the stuff on ebay, and I didnt realize there are actual continuous lasers (not pulse). I don't think I need an actual continuous beam beacause I am using it for a visual display (I just said continuously because I meant it needs to run uninterupted for a while).

It wont let me post the link to what I have cause I only have one post on here and I need 20 apparently. But I have a cheap module and driver combo from ali express. all the ones on there are pretty much the same so you get the idea. But It's just the laser and a little circuit board. Not like a full laser pointer.

so I would be looking for something like this because It has to go into a 3d printed housing that is pretty small. I can accommodate different sizes but something relativly this size is what I need. I will be buying a rechargable Lipo battery separatley, and wiring that.

If anyone could give reccomendations for a module like this that wont overheat, maybe I will just have to put in my own fans.

I know this is a strange request, but if anyone would be available for a quick zoom call or something like that I would love to chat. Just because communicating over text can be confusing and I would love to get some of my questions answered by someone who knows more about lasers, and it seems like everyone on here has ample knowledge.
Anyway if anyone would be open to that or have the time for like a 10/15 min call I would really appreciate it. DM me or reply to this.

What makes you think you need 20 posts?

When you are under 20 posts and try to make a post with a link in it it informs you that you need at least 20 posts to attach links.

I know that but I was trying to see how he knew it. Thanks for blowing it

I have a 532 nm DPSS laser, fan cooled, doing more than 200 mW. I got it many years ago and paid, IIRC, about $35 for it.
