laser package design
My laser packaging with automatic turn off. Button next to LED applies power to second button (top of box) . I used an FET and cap/diodes to do automatic power down. A safe way to leave batteries hooked up. The button layout allows thumb to be used to enable and fire the laser. The box is Ratshack 1x2x4 plastic, buttons are RS 275-646. The LED is blue,... red is so common !
Button next to LED applies GND to the second button for about two minutes . Then a capacitor discharges enough such that the LED slowly dims out. I will post the circuit for automatic shutoff shortly. This circuit give the much needed power indication and safes the laser via the timeout circuit. The box in the pic is blue ( older RS box) . The replacement box is black and alittle thicker.
