Keychain lightsaber mod possible? (thinkgeek.com)

Anyone consider modifying one of these keychain lightsabers? It has a low power red laser built into it. A friend has one. I have a feeling that he would not let me take it apart to find out how it is made . Pretty cheap though at $15.

I thought about it, and after that someone bought 1 to try it. But that was a while ago, so I dont think it happened.
