A big thank you and appreciation to this forum for their emphasis on safety. I know that people working towards harm reduction rarely get a thanks or get to see their efforts working and making a difference.
As a newbie and someone with access to strong handhelds in the past from people that would probably be considered your worst nightmare to lasers but I can tell you your efforts here works and makes a difference.

I entered the forum to learn more and get good advice about what to buy and where. I stayed long enough to realize how flippin stupid I and my friends have been regarding lasers. I now know better and even at 2 weeks of being here its hard to fathom even considering continuing how we have been using these devices.

What Im happy about is what I have learned and that I can now teach others. We weren't bad people. We're not stupid, malicious or reckless. We were ignorant. We bought high powered lasers with little understanding of them because access to these devices is quick and easy. We live in a world that is obsessed with unrealistic safety and terror of liability. A world that waters down real danger by putting endless liability deterring common sense labels and stickers like "warning may cause death or injury" on 5 gallon buckets to avoid a law suit. Its understandable, yet not excusable to me that we didn't take the warnings about lasers as serious as they warrant. You may be not only at a war with stupidity. you may be at conflict with a society that is not used to having to think about their own damn safety. A world that if you walk into a big open hole in a sidewalk you're not to blame because there should have been a sign. People, especially in the U.S. are numb to warnings on products. When a can of energy drink tells you "warning, may cause anal discharge" yet is on the shelf in the grocery store. How serious can we expect some people to take warnings? Education will always trump warnings labels in a society that stopped taking responsibility for their person years ago. Please keep up what you all are doing.

Education is the key and education is what I found here. I can now let my friends now how damn DANGEROUS we have been and we can not only correct it but educate others who are being as scary as us.

You guys make a difference. I imagine it feels like you're singing to a deaf audience at times so I just wanted to let you know I hear you. People hear you. LOUD and CLEAR. You make a difference.
cheers

Wow man that's really heartfelt. This was very much needed to hear by a large number of people who have been trying their best to provide such information for safety.
 about falling in the hole because of no sign haha so true so true
