You would need different optics to focus it correctly. Which would take some machining because I don't think they make TO18 package 808nm diodes higher than 500mW, Which means you'd need to modify the existing housing to take a normal m9 lens, or buy/make a new housing for the diode that works with one. the 'green' optics aren't suitable. The focal lengths are entirely wrong.
