I recently bought a fiber laser module off of eBay, and I didn't realise the strict export controls on high power lasers going out of the USA. It's been really challenging to find a way to get them exported out of the USA. So rather than continue to try and find a way to get it out, I'm cutting my losses and selling at significantly less than I bought it for (but only shipping within the US).
I paid US$1,140 for it, and I'm selling it for US$699+shipping for a quick sale (outside of eBay, to avoid the high fees). I'm open to other reasonable offers if it means I can offload this quickly.
This is my listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/256697764014
And the original listing (if it still loads) where I bought it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/226346083318
I don't have a lot more details other than the details in my listing, there isn't a lot available online about these modules since they aren't normally sold separately by the looks of it. From what I can tell they are pulled from larger systems like the YLR-6000 which has multiple fiber laser modules like these which are then combined into a single beam.
Right now it's a MyUS ready to ship, but it will soon be accruing daily storage fees - so I'm keen to get it sold soon.
This is being sold as is, it was advertised as pulled from a working system (looks like end of support contract or 10 years from date of manufacture), but neither the original seller or myself have tested this. It should have a decent number of IPG pump diodes in there, which on their own are worth a fair bit - but likely can get it up and running as a fiber laser by cleaving the fiber and powering up the unit. My plan was a bit of a project to learn about fiber lasers, and cleave the external fiber and power it up - and if I could not get it cleaved properly I would sell the IPG pump diodes as parts and learn in the process.
