Intel's Silicon Hybrid Laser

I saw this on HowStuffWorks, and thought I'd share it. To some here, it might not mean much, to other's, it might be a "Wow, that's kinda cool...when can I get my silicon hybrid laser." But mostly, I thought I'd just share this knowledge. These guys sure do rattle off their chemistry words fast! I thought it was cool, not too practical yet, but technology and R&D is always kinda cool to me.
